Women's History Month Newsletter

March 2026

Dear Anaya's Village,

This Women’s History Month, we celebrate women in education and leadership who embody excellence and perseverance.  Dr. Freada Kapor Klein, Dr. Kizzmekia Corbett, and Dr. France Córdova have broken glass ceilings as educators and  researchers, overcoming gender and social barriers. Their work directly inspires our scholars to pursue higher education, leadership roles, and careers that advance equity and innovation.

Sincerely,

Anaya Scholars

Dr. Freada Kapor Klein is a leading voice for equity in technology and co-founder of the Kapor Center, an organization working to close racial and gender gaps in the tech industry. She has helped create pathways for underrepresented students and entrepreneurs to enter and succeed in STEM fields.

Dr. Kizzmekia Corbett is an immunologist whose research was instrumental in developing the Moderna COVID-19 vaccine. She is also an advocate for representation in the next generation of young scientists, specifically women and students of color.

Dr. France Córdova is the daughter of Mexican immigrant parents, and has long championed greater access and inclusion in STEM education. She is an astrophysicist and former Director of the National Science Foundation who has helped expand scientific research and opportunity across the United States.

We are unbelievably proud of our forward-thinking female scholars. Each day, our scholars choose to pursue their higher education and career goals to ensure the next generation is inspired too. We know that soon, many of our female scholars will be breaking glass ceilings just as these women did for them.
